Refurbishing

Refurbishing

Our in house watch refurbishing restores the case and bracelet to a premium finish.

Each job is completed in our state of the art facility. Watches are refurbished using a variety of methods best suited for each individual design.

Our refurbish process:

step 1: visual inspection and waterproof test

Prior to refurbishing, one of our skilled technicians will perform an initial visual inspection and waterproof test to establish the condition of your watch.

STEP 2: initial cleaning and disassembly

Before being opened, each watch is delicately cleaned to remove the possibility of any foreign particles contaminating the movement. Once clean, the bracelet is removed from the case and set aside for refurbishing. The case is opened and the movement is carefully removed by one of our accredited watchmakers and set to one side.

STEP 3: Polishing

Using a combination of techniques, the watch is expertly returned to its best possible condition. Varying grades of abrasive and polishing compounds and variable speed polishing equipment allows for the removal of all scratches and for a mirrored polished finish. Where required, each component is grained by hand to original specification and carefully examined by our trained refurbishment technicians who inspect for an even and accurate finish.

STEP 4: Encase

Once the refurbishing process is complete, all gaskets in the case are replaced with factory original components, and the movement is carefully restored to its position in the case. The technician inspects the glass and dial to ensure there is no trace of dust. The watch is then tested for waterproofing using a combination of techniques including air pressure and wet testing when necessary.

Step 5: Quality control

The watch is inspected by our quality control team who ensure all work is completed to precise manufacturer standards, and only when satisfied can the client be notified of the work's completion.
